By accessing and using Nurside (“the Service”), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Educational Purpose & Medical Disclaimer

Nurside is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It is NOT a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The calculators are clinical decision support tools designed to assist, not replace, healthcare providers' clinical judgment.

You agree to:

  • Verify all calculations independently before clinical use
  • Check all dosing and unit decisions against current drug references and your facility's policies
  • Consider each patient's individual clinical context, contraindications, and comorbidities
  • Consult with pharmacists, physicians, or other appropriate healthcare professionals when uncertain

3. No Warranty & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose or use case
  • Non-infringement of third-party rights
  • Uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NURSIDE AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PATIENT HARM, MEDICAL ERRORS, OR ADVERSE OUTCOMES.

You acknowledge that healthcare providers bear sole responsibility for patient care decisions and outcomes.

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of Nurside, you agree to:

  • Professional Use: Use the Service only within your scope of practice and competency
  • Accuracy: Enter accurate input values and verify outputs before clinical application
  • Privacy: Not enter identifiable patient information (PHI) into the calculators
  • Compliance: Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards (HIPAA, nursing practice acts, etc.)
  • Reporting: Report any suspected errors or safety concerns to us via our Contact page
  • Prohibited Use: Not use the Service for unlawful purposes, to harm patients, or to circumvent safety protocols

5. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Nurside (including but not limited to calculators, formulas, text, graphics, logos, and software) are owned by Nurside or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or publicly display Service content without permission
  • Modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works
  • Remove copyright or proprietary notices
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service

6. Advertising

Nurside is supported by advertising. By using the Service, you acknowledge that advertisements may be displayed and that we may use third-party ad networks. These advertisers may use cookies and tracking technologies subject to their own privacy policies.

7. Updates and Changes

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time
  • Update calculator formulas, thresholds, or features to reflect current best practices

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Nurside and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any rights of another party.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's rules, except for claims that may be brought in small claims court.

10. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
